Seaman falls for pickpocket gang

A seaman lost P12,000 from a Laglag Barya gang while boarding a jeepney at Ermita, Manila early yesterday.

SPO4 Cenon Parungao of Police Station 5 identified the victim as Jaime Arroyo, 52, temporarily residing at Gwapotel, Port Area, Manila, who personally reported the incident to their office at around 10:20 a.m.

Parungao said the victim was on his way to work when the incident happened. Arroyo was fixing his papers when one of the suspects told him that his money fell.

Another suspect took advantage and picked the victim’s wallet while he’s busy looking for his money. The third suspect had already gone off the jeep when the Arroyo noticed that his wallet was missing.

The seaman chased the suspect when the other suspect told him that the one who got off was the one who took his wallet. The two suspects, meanwhile, whose in possession of Arroyo’s belongings grabbed the chance and left.

Parungao said the three suspects remain at large.
